Hey y'all!!

I wanted to do a different kind of blog about Plexus Slim. This one will be mainly Before & After pics. Someone is more more likely to want to try a product after seeing results from people whom have tried the product. Losing Weight with Plexus Slim

Ok, y'all. It's no secret that it's hard to stay healthy and slim in today's world.  There are many things to do and sometimes exercise and eating right isn't something that stays on your mind while you're running the kids around, doing errands, and not putting yourself first.  Especially for me!

I used to be a good weight, I averaged around 120-130 pounds for the most of my teens and early twenties.  I could get my butt into a size 2 jean about two years ago.  Unfortunately, my weight has caught up with my age, and it's seemed to rise.  Since I haven't been working, I must admit...I've packed on a few pounds. Or ten. Or...twen,.....-irdy.  It's taken a toll on me, and when I look in the mirror I'm just not as happy and confident as I was a couple of years ago.

I have tried many things, diet fads, pills, groups, etc. Nothing seemed to work.  Every time I saw myself, it made me depressed; therefore, causing me to want to snack. Yes, I'm well aware that this isn't the way I should have dealt with my depression. Yep, I'm aware it's what also causes me to not lose weight.  Many people struggle with weight loss and I'm here to let you know about what I finally found that WORKS for me! I recently was introduced to a product called Plexus Slim. Plexus Slim is a small packet that you simply pour into water, shake, and drink every day.  It's natural and safe. Benefit They're Real Push Up Liner

Before I begin with the new Benefit eyeliner product, I wanted to inform you all that while I do love me some makeups, I am HORRIBLE, absolutely dreadful when it comes to applying eyeliner. It has just never been my thing. I have shaky hands and before I begin, I'm already expecting it to be hideous. And, of course, it always is. I have tried many brands, types, and kinds of eyeliner and there isn't one product that I have found to help my incompetence of applying eyeliner.

It's quite sad, yes I know. I'm 28 years old, love makeup, and I can not perfect eyeliner. I practice, practice and practice some more and it just doesn't work for me.  I really hope I'm not the only one out there like this. Am I? Please, someone tell me I'm not! Comment down below if you're someone like me who has struggles of applying eyeliner and what are your tips for applying eyeliner easier!

Everyone has probably at some point or another seen the above picture floating around on the internet. Every time I see it, it's like a mockery of my life. It's just sitting there laughing at me, taunting me with it's awful truth!

When I heard all the hype about Benefit Cosmetics They're Real Push Up Liner, I knew it was something I had to try. All the beauty guru's and reviews I read, it seemed like finally there is a product I just may know how to use! The product promises it gets closer to your lash line, the ease of application is better and so you won't be screaming into your mirror that your liner is uneven or just plain wrong.

Benefit Cosmetics had a couple of ways to get your hands on the new liner earlier than it is expected to be released.  One way was a contest they ran on Twitter to make a funny statement about eyeliner and add the hashtag liner crimes at the end. I tried to enter a couple of days, with  no success and on the third day of my trying I finally got picked to win! I couldn't believe it, it was the only thing I had ever won. I won with this comment,
"My eyeliner is so bad I'm wondering if I passed out and my son drew on me with a Sharpie. Makeup problems.#linercrimes @BenefitBeauty" 

The second way you could earn a chance to grab They're Real Push Up Liner early was to "Get in the Line to Fine".  Benefit gave people a chance to log onto thelinetofine.com and watch short videos, share the page to gain early access and get your shot at purchasing early.  I did this as well, and pushed my way to the front of the line, and bought my liner after only three days of 'being in line'.

When I finally received my eyeliner, I couldn't wait to see if this was the product I had been waiting for all my life. I felt like my son when he gets Christmas cards from people in the mail!  My husband didn't understand my excitement, but of course, he never does when it comes to makeup.

The packaging was super cute, as always with Benefit Cosmetics!

When I twisted off the top of the liner, I immediately noticed the soft, pointed tip that everyone has been raving about! It's soft, smooth, and flexible! It comes with a little orange topper type thing that you remove before your first use.

The instructions say for the first use, you have to twist the bottom a few times to get the gel into the pen tip. I feel like I was twisting forever before I saw product come out. But, hey, that's a small bump in the road for gorgeous eyeliner, right?  I was quite pleased at the ease of application to be honest. It didn't turn out as horrific as most other times I try and I didn't even have to remove it and try again! I know that with practice I will get better and, perhaps...dun dun dunnnnnn Do a cat eye! I know, I know....don't fuss at me. Yep, I can't do a cat eye either.

The gel is almost dry when you apply it, so you don't have to worry about it smudging. It is a deep, matte black which I love as well.  No wonder Benefit has been raving about this, as well as other Beauty Bloggers. This stuff is amaze-balls!  For an eyeliner newbie, whom is still not sure how to apply and perfect liner, this stuff is awesome! I will continue to use and practice! If you're an eyeliner expert or an eyeliner Newb like me, you're sure to fall in love yet again with Benefit Cosmetics! I highly recommend this eyeliner!

Kiss everlasting French Manicure

In a previous post, I explained a little about Influenster and my involvement with them. One of the items I received in my Spring VoxBox were Kiss Everlasting French Manicure nails.  I was able to finally use them and will now give my full, honest opinion and how I put them on.  (I received this product complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes). When I first opened the package, I noticed there were different sizes so you can custom fit any finger nail. Each size has a partner nail. (Two pieces for each size) They are numbered on the 'easy application tip' for reference and ease of application. Along with the artificial nails there is glue to adhere the nail to your actual nail.  You can't first see all the nails in the package, but after opening the clear plastic piece the others are lying in a square dip in the back. Also included in the opposite side of the clear pack is a small nail file and a wooden cuticle pusher to help prep your nails prior to application.

To begin, I first measured each artificial nail up against my real nail to see what piece would fit properly.  It's easier to do your nails quicker if you have already set them aside and know which artificial nail will go on your real nail, versus gluing one on and then finding the next, gluing that on, etc, etc.  After finding what pieces I would use on my nails, I trimmed my nails to the appropriate length for this type of manicure. These Kiss nails are short length, perfect for everyday wear and a busy lifestyle. I then filed my nails and made my nail bed smooth so the glue would adhere better and hold the artificial nail.

Having prepped the artificial nails already, the application time was a breeze. It didn't take long at all for me to complete my manicure.  I put a couple dots of nail glue on my real nail and then picked up the artificial nail from the tip and placed on my nail. I pressed down on the nail for about ten seconds per nail to ensure it was stuck. When the nail is stuck, I then took the tip off.  The tip of the nail really helps with holding the nail and making sure it's properly placed onto your nail. You gently bend the tip back and forth for it to come off.

After completing both sets of hands, I used the nail file included to gently file the tip of the artificial nail to get rid of any bumps that may have happened due to bending the 'guide tip' off the nail.

 

 I must say I was quite impressed with the ease of doing this at home manicure. It was a lot less time than I would have spent at the nail salon.  The nails look quite nice, and truly look like salon quality.  These would be great for someone attending a special event, or just want a fun night out and don't want the hefty price tag of a salon manicure.  Also, these do not damage your nails like acrylics do! This product retails for around $6.49 with is a ton less than a salon manicure which ranges from $25-$35. 

So far I have had the nails on for 6 days and have no problems with them coming loose or chipping.  I haven't had to break out the extra glue or extra nails to fix any problems. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone seeking a quick manicure without the fuss and cost of a salon.

Influenster Spring Fling Voxbox

I just received my Spring Fling VoxBox- #SpringVoxBox complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes a few days ago and I can't be more happy with the contents inside! I have found some great products I will certainly purchase in the near future!

When I first received my VoxBox, a smile immediately came across my face. The box was a bright, beautiful green pastel color, perfect for Spring! On top of the box upon opening was a beautiful card describing what was inside the Spring Vox Box.

The first thing I noticed when I opened the box was the monthly necessity!!! Playtex Sport Fresh Balance tampons!! Ok, ladies...I can't recommend these enough during your 'cycle'! These tampons are great for women on the go! If you love to stay active or have a busy lifestyle, these are what you need. The protection is outstanding giving you the ability to stay worry free and go about your sports, activities, and your daily life without the problem of leaks.  These tampons also have Odor Shield technology giving you ultimate comfort knowing you are staying fresh during the most un-fresh moments. The next product Influenster sent me complimentary for testing purposes was Kiss Everlasting French Nails. I rarely get manicures at a salon due to the to cost and how much the upkeep is. This product is great because it's very budget friendly for any household and the nails last up to a week guaranteed with a no chip tip! This at home manicure is very user friendly. I am not very familiar with nail glue and artificial nails application, but this Kiss set was very easy! There are a few different sizes to choose from for your different finger nails and I found a perfect match to each of my nails. After four days of wear, the Kiss Everlasting French nails are still in place, with no signs of looseness to my original nail. The glue is still in tact and the artificial nail is still as beautiful as it was in the package. I am very impressed with the quality of this product. I think it would be great for those whom have an event or party to attend and don't want the cost of a salon manicure that comes along with damage to your original nail, as well as the time spent waiting for the salon to tend to you. When the retail cost is $6.49 it's not surprising to know that I'll be wearing these all the time!

Next in my SpringVoxBox from Influenster I noticed the Rimmel London Scandaleyes Retro Glam mascara that retails for $5.99. I am a makeup fiend and I was very excited about this item. Mascara is a must have for any woman, even if you don't have a full face of makeup or just foundation. Mascara is an item I wear everyday. It brightens my look and gives the impression that I'm more awake (which comes in handy having a 6 year old, you're most likely sleep deprived!) and draws attention to my eyes, which I think are my best asset. *wink wink* This is the blackest of the black mascara's I have ever tried! True black! It's magnificent! It gives volume to my lashes while separating them not making me look like Miss.Spider Legs just crawled on my eyeball. Two coats gave me the look I have long awaited for. I love the look that this Retro Glam gives me! The price is on point for any makeup lovers budget and being drug store brand, you just can not beat it! Don't pay over the top prices for mascara, when the one you're looking for is at your local drugstore!

The best smelling, toning, and moisturizing item in my voxbox is the NIVEA Skin Firming Hydration Lotion! The smell is so intoxicating, I could sit and smell it all day! It has a very light, pleasant, almost a citrus-y smell to it that captivates all your senses in an instant. My skin just drinks up this lotion and soaks it right in! It's lovely for someone such as me who has somewhat untoned skin. The toning, firming formulation really gives you some tightness in your skin's surface. I can noticeably see a difference in as little as four days. I'm very excited to see what else is to come from using this lotion. And, I will certainly be purchasing the larger bottle from the smell alone! So fragrant and delicious smelling! The 2.5 oz bottle that Influenster sent me complimentary for testing retails for $2.49 and a 13.5oz bottle retails for $10.99. I definitely recommend the larger size, because you will instantly fall in love with it! The lotion doesn't feel greasy or oily at all, but rather more thick and richer than your average brand. It doesn't take long when you rub it into your skin for it to smooth away and nourish your skin's surface. I am already in love with this and I'm going on a shopping hunt for it tomorrow!

Last, but not least, I received a Peach Pie Car Freshener from the Labor Day Movie in honor of the Paramount Pictures for the release of the Labor Day movie release. Labor Day is now available on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD for $19.99. I'll be honest, the car freshener is cute, but doesn't have a great smell. The good thing is that----It doesn't matter! If you are a sucker for love stories and movie plots, this movie is for you! You'll cry, laugh, and ultimately believe in love again. This movie is for everyone who believes in love, and for people of all ages. I was very excited to go out and purchase this movie to watch. The hype that Influenster has been doing for this movie, I was very anxious to see it and very happy when I purchased the DVD of Labor Day. Sephora Sun Safety Kit 2014

The only items I have tried previously are the Murad Oil-Control Mattifier (which I LOVE! I apply before makeup application) and the Bare Minerals READY touch up veil (Which I apply after makeup application).

I just got this kit about a week ago and haven't had a chance to test out and use most of what's included, but I will say that I am in love with the Too Faced chocolate soleil bronzer! It smells delicious, just like chocolate! It's got great pigmentation and works great for me to contour my cheekbones, as well as around my hairline and jawline.  I prefer to use my Real Techniques contour brush, which comes in the Core Collection set.  It works beautifully to blend out the bronzer without any harsh lines.

The items are enclosed in a re-useable travel bag with a see through window that mimics that of a sun. Its flexible, durable and would work great for carrying items to the beach or wherever your Summer travels lead you!

Once I test and review all the products I'll add my feedback on what I feel about them. The best thing about this kit is you get to try deluxe samples of brands and products to test out before investing in full sizes. Some of these brands are on the expensive side, so it's nice to try it out to see if it works for you prior to purchase. I love all of Sephora's well put together sets and the Sun Safety is probably my most loved each year! We all need a reminder sometimes to not over do it in the sun and remember, apply sunscreen 30 minutes before going out into the sun and reapply every two hours! Well, hellllooo! I'm Jennifer!

Welcome to my little nook! I wanted to take a moment to briefly introduce myself to whomever is reading. I'm a vibrant, happy 28 year old and am married to my wonderful husband and I have one six year old son. He is the light of my life! I currently reside in South Carolina in a small town that is known for it's unique smell. (I'm serious-not kidding, strange I know) I have a passion for animals and went to school for Veterinary medicine and work as a Vet Technician. At the moment, I am not employed due to some unforeseen circumstances. I decided I would fill the void of something missing and do some blogging.

I am an avid makeup lover, though I'm not very good at it! hehe! :) I love all things beauty and trying new products. I will make be doing quite a bit of reviewing beauty products on here. Things I love, things I hate, things you shouldn't waste your time on, or things that some of you may find interesting-just let me know!

I'll also be doing some sharing of my lifestyle and parenting. Being the mom of a very active, ADHD child, sometimes it can be very trying at times. I'll share some tips and tricks on how to deal with children who have ADHD/ADD and how you can try not to get too stressed at times. My son and I have many activities and things we love to do and cook, and I'll be sharing those with you as well.

The more I post, the more you will learn about me and what I'm about. By the way-I love to joke around, so please don't be offended if I say something that may be taken out of context. Most of the times it is, but I'll try to filter myself somewhat! Hmmm. Maybe.

I'll try to do daily posts, but as I'm just starting out please bare with me as I'm still learning!
